BEFORE & AFTER

3 years ago, our family room looked like this! Having bought our first home at the height of the housing boom in CA. meant one thing: accepting the fact that we would be buying a home that exhibits, shall we say, "third world charm!" Indeed it did, every square inch! Richard surprised me for our anniversary with a few touches to finally finish (almost) this room. The results are shocking, no? Just don't ever ask to use our bathroom should you come for a visit...

Aileen, that is beautiful. Tell Richard I am very impressed. And I love the color of the walls. If you don't mind sharing I'd like to know what color you used.

Having seen it in person, I must say that even these amazing photos don't do it justice. You have the coziest, happiest feeling in your home! Next, you'll have to show your darling kitchen.

Aileen- please, PLEASE don't post photos of your custom kitchen cabinets & granite countertops...
You know I have dibs on this house when you decide to sell. If you post any more photos, I'm afraid I'm going to have to start dealing with competing offers.

What a beautiful room!

Knowing the home(s) you grew up in, I'm not one bit surprised you have a beautiful, cozy home yourself!!

Aileen it is gorgeous! Those wood floors the beautiful couches, the wall color! Was Richard taking Interior Design classes on the side at law school?

Aileen, your house looks beautiful. I want to see a picture of your kitchen with a pan of OATSIES on the counter. ( I still dream of them at night)

Guy.... extreme makeover!
It looks so good!!!! If my husband remodeled a room in our house, I'd end up with a shooting range and war memorabilia scattered around the room.
